Dr. Badaan Shinway is a New Jersey native and is currently licensed as a clinical psychologist in the states of New Jersey, New York, Florida and Vermont. She provides both clinical and forensic psychology services.
Dr. Badaan Shinway attained her M.S. and Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University, where she had the privilege of being trained by experts in the fields of trauma and domestic violence. During her doctoral training Dr. Badaan Shinway also completed the Forensic Psychology concentration as a supplement to her degree. She has a background in Forensic Psychology and obtained her B.A. and M.A. in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York.
Dr. Badaan Shinway completed her Pre-Doctoral Internship and Postdoctoral Residency at the Mental Health Center of Florida in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Due to her hard work and proficiency, she was named Chief Intern and asked to stay on as a postdoctoral resident. Following completion of her residency, and despite her relocation back to New Jersey, she continued employment at MHCFL, remotely, as a testing supervisor for the internship class. Dr. Badaan Shinway resigned from this position to begin growing her private practice in New Jersey.
Dr. Badaan Shinway is an Adjunct Professor for the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience, M.S. in Forensic Psychology Program at Nova Southeastern University. She currently teaches the graduate course Child Maltreatment and Trauma Assessment and Intervention, for those students interested in taking on a speciality in the treatment of trauma.
Dr. Badaan Shinway has also provided Psychoeducational Evaluations and Therapy Services for pre-school and school-aged children throughout Manhattan, New York.
